GoCloud hosted desktops help recruitment companies place more candidates by giving them the freedom to work from anywhere.
Each member of your team needs a computer in order to communicate with companies, advertise jobs, keep track of each candidate’s progress, and deliver a high-quality recruitment service on a daily basis.
Hosted desktops offer your usual desktop experience, yet all of the information is stored in GoCloud’s secure data centres that are monitored around the clock to ensure 99.9% uptime.
By investing in hosted desktops, all of your staff can access their individual accounts from any device with an internet connection.
This means that if they’re out of the office or don’t have access to their usual computer for another reason, they can instantly load their desktop on another device, including a PC, Mac, Linux machine, laptop, iPad, iPhone, Android or Blackberry.
Whether they’re in a meeting, at a client’s offices, attending
a jobs fair, running a recruitment drive off-site or want to
check and edit files whilst on the move, they have access to
everything they need no matter where they are.
Constant access to all of their files makes recruitment teams more agile and productive, which can help a business to strengthen its cash flow and profit margins.
Meanwhile, due to hosted desktops using far less electricity than traditional versions, you can cut down your company’s utility bills and carbon footprint simultaneously.
All of your software is also updated automatically, removing those wasted hours that accumulate when you have multiple staff waiting for an application to download the latest version.
You can even minimise the costs associated with printing and
stationery, as the mobile nature of hosted desktops takes away
the need for unnecessary paperwork, which again is good for the
planet too.
With so much confidential and sensitive information held by your recruitment business, you need to be extremely careful that it doesn’t get leaked, damaged or fall into the wrong hands.
This kind of incident is a very high risk when you take into account circumstances such as hardware failure, power cuts, a flood, fire or natural disaster, computer viruses, hackers, and even members of staff having more admin rights than their roles justify.
With hosted desktops, everything is stored safely in our UK data centres and each user accesses their own desktop through a password.
The key factor is that the files, folders, software, emails and so on aren’t stored on the devices themselves, greatly reducing the chance of a data breach.
As well as being an excellent method of achieving total GDPR compliance, hosted desktops offer the following security features for complete peace of mind:

You are able to download your data whenever you want. Depending on how much data you have, you can copy the data via a mapped drive, download via FTP, or we can send you USB hard drives.
A hosted desktop is a Windows desktop containing your applications, which you use to access your files and data from. Files can be stored on a hosted file server, data can be on a database server such as SQL Server. Our hosted desktop service comes with the desktops, file server and a firewall, all dedicated to you and not shared with other customers.
No. Customers can use any PC, Mac or Linux machine to connect to their hosted desktop. One of the initial cost-savings is the ability to continue to use existing PCs. As the processing power, memory, and storage are provided by our servers, customers are even able to use older PCs that would be unable to run a new Operating System themselves, thereby extending their working lives and ROI. Alternatively, you may decide to supply thin clients, to further enhance the benefits of moving to a hosted desktop environment. Thin clients are physically smaller PCs; they cost less than a normal PC (aka a "fat client"), and use a lot less energy. Of course, as a hybrid measure they may opt to simply replace existing computers with thin clients as they begin to fail. Hosted desktops will also work on laptops, tablet devices such as the iPad and smartphones such as the iPhone.
Firstly, we recommend using a backup internet service if required, such as ADSL or a dongle if mobile. Secondly, if you lose your connection to your hosted desktop, when you regain your connection, your desktop is exactly as you left it, with all applications and data intact.
